ActivePerl perlIS.dll Remote Filename Overflow

     Fiche

Fiche créée le 2002-09-12 16:02:07, dernière mise à jour le 2008-03-02 23:46:55

ActivePerl's perlIIS.dll contains a remote buffer overflow. The perlIIS.dll library does not properly validate the length of the filenames. A URL with a long filename will create a denial of service condition and could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The PerlIIS.dll is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in handling of the URL string due to an unbounded string copy operation
Check for a non-existent perl script with a name 660 characters long in the cgi-bin directory, with an extension of .pl or .plx. Look for 'The remote procedure call failed.' in the results.
